As an Executive Vice President for Hanley Investment Group, Bill Asher specializes in advising clients in the acquisition and disposition of retail properties nationwide. With over 25 years of experience in commercial real estate, his transaction expertise, industry relationships, and unparalleled professionalism have enabled him to close and contribute to more than $3 billion in sales, including over 800 transactions in the last 10 years. Bill’s dedication and unwavering commitment to his clients have made him one of the top agents at the company earning him the “Top Producer Award” in 2018, 2017, and 2013, and runner-up for the past six years. In 2019, Bill was awarded Hanley Investment Group’s “Honor Man” award for his success, exceptional performance, and outstanding leadership within the company.
Since 2019, Bill and his business partner, Jeff Lefko, have consistently been Hanley Investment Group’s top performing team, achieving record-breaking sales volume and transaction closings year after year. GlobeSt. has recognized them as Influencers in Retail Real Estate and Net Lease annually from 2020 to 2025. Additionally, they have been repeatedly named CoStar Power Broker Quarterly Deal Winners across multiple U.S. markets.
For more than 20 years, Bill has worked closely with the Hanley team, coordinating and overseeing strategic marketing and operational initiatives. He also assists with the distribution and implementation of corporate advertising, public relations, and key company objectives to ensure seamless and successful closings for every client.
Prior to helping form Hanley Investment Group in 2004, Bill was with Marcus & Millichap in their Newport Beach office from 2002 to 2004, focusing on investment sales of retail properties. From 2000 to 2002, Bill served as a Market Analyst and Associate at Cushman Realty Corporation / Cushman & Wakefield, specializing in providing tenant advisory and transaction services to clients locally, regionally, and nationally. He contributed to numerous prominent tenant representation assignments for clients such as ADP, Fox Sports Net, Jacobs Engineering, and the Los Angeles Times.
Bill graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business with an emphasis in Marketing. He is an active member of ICSC (Innovating Commerce Serving Communities) and has served as a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles for over 25 years.
Bill lives in South Orange County with his wife and two daughters. He enjoys spending time with family, traveling, golfing, and following the University of Arizona athletics.
