Ed Hanley serves as the President and founder of Hanley Investment Group. With the leadership of Ed and Partner Jeff Lefko, Hanley Investment Group’s sales volumes consistently rank among the top retail investment teams in both California and nationally by deal volume.
Boasting a formidable multi-billion-dollar track record and a commendable 30 years of experience, Ed guides his clients with seasoned advice on acquisition and disposition strategies, ensuring not only efficient execution but also the optimization of asset value. His diverse clientele includes developers, individual investors, family trusts, and institutional lenders. A luminary in his field, he is a frequent contributor to numerous articles on retail real estate trends, earning recognition for his outstanding achievements from regional and national publications.
Establishing Hanley Investment Group in 2004 marked a pivotal moment in Ed’s career. Prior to Hanley Investment Group, he held the position of Senior Director of the National Retail Group at Marcus & Millichap and had notable tenures with Sperry Van Ness, and the Grubb & Ellis office in Newport Beach.
Ed’s commitment extends beyond the professional realm; he is dedicated to supporting both local and national philanthropic endeavors. Leading by example, Ed and the Hanley Investment Group team participate in “Movember” by growing mustaches to raise awareness and funds for men’s health programs. In 2024, the firm celebrated its 14th consecutive year of participating in Movember. Hanley Investment Group consistently ranks in the top 1% among thousands of teams throughout the U.S. in Movember’s annual fundraising efforts.
Ed is an alumnus of the University of California, Irvine, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He is a member of ICSC and holds a license in both California and Utah as a Real Estate Broker.
