Ed Hanley

President

Ed Hanley is President and founder of Hanley Investment Group and a leading expert in the sale of retail properties. With a multi billion-dollar track record and over 25 years of experience, he advises his clients on successful acquisition and disposition strategies that drive efficient execution and optimize asset value. His clientele ranges from developers to individual investors, family trusts, institutional lenders, pension funds, and both public and private real estate investment trusts.

In addition to the sale of shopping centers, Ed has been trusted as an expert witness for partnership settlements of large shopping centers. He regularly contributes to scores of articles on retail real estate trends and has been recognized for his outstanding accomplishments by regional and national publications.

Prior to forming Hanley Investment Group in 2004, Ed served as the Senior Director of the National Retail Group at Marcus & Millichap and was previously with Sperry Van Ness and the Grubb & Ellis office in Newport Beach.

Ed is dedicated to supporting both local and national philanthropic efforts. Ed and the Hanley Investment Group team grow moustaches during “Movember” to raise awareness and funds for men’s health programs. 2022 marked Hanley Investment Group’s 12th consecutive year growing a mustache in the month of November to raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Hanley Investment Group has raised over $334,000 for Movember since 2011. The firm’s fundraising efforts have landed the firm annually in Movember’s top 1% among thousands of teams throughout the U.S.

Ed graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He is a member of ICSC (Innovating Commerce Serving Communities) and is a licensed California Real Estate Broker.
